About Codeoko
A coding school that writes what it teaches.
Codeoko is a live online school of computing for children aged 7–18 across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. Small classes. Real projects. Mentors in the room.
Why we exist
Too many “coding” products stop at the doorway.
Families across the GCC already know the pattern: a course, a badge, a login — and a child who cannot open their own work or explain a traceback. Entertainment is easy to sell. Computing is harder.
Codeoko exists so a seven-year-old can ship a game with a score, a twelve-year-old can defend a page that actually runs, and a sixteen-year-old can pause a model and say what the number means. We write what we actually teach — in class and in the Journal.
Educational philosophy
Understand. Build. Debug. Show.
The loop is simple on purpose. Copying from a board teaches obedience. Writing, breaking, and explaining teaches computing.
Build, don’t binge
Children learn to compute by writing something that runs — then fixing it when it doesn’t. Watching a video is not the product.
Explain out loud
If they cannot say what the code does in ordinary words, it is not theirs yet. Oral defence is part of the class, not a ceremony at the end.
Small rooms
One mentor. Four students. Enough attention to catch a bad habit early — and enough peer pressure to keep the work honest.

Curriculum philosophy
Three programmes. Not three prices for the same cartoon.
Age bands matter because cognition changes. We do not keep a capable eleven-year-old in block toys forever — and we do not hand a beginner a “AI certificate” week one.

Steps, games, first Python — something they can play.

Placement is by conversation and readiness — not by a marketing age sticker alone. All programs.
Faculty standards
Engineers who sit with your child.
Teaching philosophy is part of the hire. A mentor who cannot explain a broken loop without shame does not belong in a room of four.
Still write software
Mentors are hired to teach live, not to host a slideshow. We look for people who can debug in front of a child without panic — and who can slow down without talking down.
Arabic and English
Briefs, parent notes, and conversation may be in English, Arabic, or both. Code stays in English, as the field requires. Language is a bridge, not a marketing badge.
Honest bios
We do not invent laboratories or degrees we cannot show. Faculty cards on this site are the people in the room — updated as credentials and photographs are cleared with permission.
GCC focus
Built for Gulf evenings — not a US recording dump.
Classes run after school on Gulf time: GST for the UAE, AST for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. Households join from the cities below — same school, same 1:4 standard, local clock.
Arabic support is available for briefs and parent conversation. The school slogan is deliberate: Engineered for the Few. — capped cohorts, not an infinite waitlist sold as exclusivity theatre.
Safeguarding
Children first. Marketing second.
Online class with minors requires restraint: who is in the room, what is recorded, and what leaves the household.
Parents are in the loop
Admissions starts with a guardian. Progress notes are written for households, not for a public feed. Named student work goes on the site only with permission.
Live rooms, not a content library
Studio sessions are not published as a binge library. Families may request a recording of an oral defence. Mentors see the children they teach; class notes stay with that cohort.
Least data, clear purpose
We collect what we need to place a child and run a class — contact details, age, city, project files, mentor notes. We do not sell family lists. See Privacy for the full picture.
